Instrument Rental & Purchase  

Finding the correct instrument size is important!  We are happy to help you get measured so that you can rent or purchase with confidence.

We get it. Instruments are expensive. That is why we are pleased to offer a small collection of instruments in a variety of sizes available to you at a low cost! 


Please stop by our instrument rental day on August 8th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Central Kitsap Church of Christ: 11898 Central Valley Rd NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370

Rent for camp! $20/week.

Violins & Violas
Purchase for $150-200
If you purchase an instrument from us, we will help you sell it to another HSS member when your child outgrows it. Purchase includes a bow, shoulder rest, case, and rosin.

Cellos & Basses
Rent for $200/year
Rental instruments include a bow, endpin stop, case, and rosin. If you rent an instrument from us, the rental cost may eventually enable you to receive a full size instrument from HSS. Students must be members and rent for at least 3-4 years.

Harps & Guitars
We do not currently offer harps or guitars for rent or purchase.

HSS doesn't have what you need?

• Purchase or rent from Shar Music ( (be sure to order a case, bow, rosin, and Everest shoulder rest!)
• Rent or purchase from Ted Brown Music.
• Please be aware that inexpensive instruments purchased elsewhere or via the internet may require additional work by a luthier before they may be played or tuned properly. (Estimated cost of luthier repairs: $50-100 minimum). If in doubt, please check with your child's teacher.

• Rent or Sell: We will be happy to inform interested members. Simply let us know via the contact form!
• Donate: Donations always accepted. Thank you for helping us provide inexpensive instruments to our students! Tell us more about your instrument!
